Episode Name:

Improving and Maximizing Your Wishlist Quality

Episode Description:

Getting wishlists is probably one of the main goals, and bottom-line results we strive to acquire when getting games ready for release, and understandably so.

But often, we get so caught up in this key metric that we don’t stop to think about the importance quality plays in our wishlist acquisition, and just focus on hitting a total number before release.

So today, we’re going to look at wishlists in general from the “bottom-up”, reviewing and thinking about the processes involved in acquiring wishlists, while also exploring the concept of how to “maintain” your wishlists, so you can do everything possible to increase your wishlist quality.

TIPS and ADVICE

We covered quite a bit today. Could you list 3 suggestions or tips you would recommend to indie devs based on our discussion?

  1. Look upstream – Envision the different paths players take. What’s their journey like, and are they enjoying the ride?
  2. Have a plan – Focus on strategies that cater to your market and audience, but also work within your means.
  3. Control your influence – Be strategic with what you’re sharing, how it communicates with audiences, increase frequency and engagement, and be mindful of how others share content.
